How Can I Increase The Fiber In My Diet?
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, after my last colonoscopy my doctor told me I needed more fiber in my diet. He gave me a list of foods that are high in fiber, the list consisted of fruits, vegetables and grains. I eat most of what was on the list on a daily basis so now what? After much research I decided I needed something that would be easy to incorporate into my diet.
I settled on Chia seeds because they have a lot to offer in the “fiber department” not only do they contain omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and a slew of vitamins and minerals, these little seeds are bursting with fiber. A single tablespoon of chia seeds has 5.5 grams of fiber. That is absolutely amazing to me. 🙂 and they are so easy to use.
