Products To Help You Fall Asleep Faster
No need to toss and turn all night long anymore. I found several products to help you fall asleep faster. Most over-the-counter sleep medications make me groggy, that’s why I like the more natural approach and I think you will too.
As we age we do begin to sleep less and I find that the deep sleep I use to enjoy is a thing of the past. Falling asleep takes me awhile and I am up and down all night long. Unfortunately, this is just another part of the aging process. We still need the same amount of sleep but because the circadian rhythms that regulate our body functions are changing (due to our aging body), we begin to suffer from insomnia. 😥

Insomnia can be short term and related to everyday stress. It can also develop into a chronic condition so that nearly every night you have problems getting to sleep or staying asleep throughout the night.
Below are some of the best products I have found to help you fall asleep so you don’t suffer from the long-term consequences of sleep deprivation brought on by too many nights without proper sleep.
Products To Help You Fall Asleep – Sleep Better With White Noise
Do white noise machines really work? Yes, they do! A White noise machine is a natural way to bring about sleep. A white noise machine emits white noise to block out any external noises that might interfere with your sleep. For years I used ear plugs to block out noise but I found that I couldn’t even hear my alarm so that’s when I bought a white noise machine. I love the Homedics one because it has the sounds I love, 4 white noise tones, 4 water tones, and 4 nature tones. I have used one for years now, as do my grandchildren.
Herbal Teas To Help You Fall Asleep
Two of the best herbal teas for sleep are Lavender and Chamomile. They can help overcome restlessness and difficulty in sleeping. They are Caffeine free. I have even used Lavender oil on my pillow or I’ve rubbed it onto my feet. I love drinking a cup of chamomile tea before I go to bed its a great stress reliever.
&Using hypnosis to fall asleep. I have been hypnotized and I have practiced self-hypnosis. Self-hypnosis is similar to meditation except that with self-hypnosis, you will focus on a specific goal, such as getting a calm night’s sleep. You work with your subconscious in order to bring about a state of relaxation conducive to sleep. After the break up of my first marriage I was under a great deal of stress and the psychologist I visited hypnotized me several times, it helped me to relax and he recommended I use self-hypnosis and I did and still do to this day.Drink lavender or chamomile tea. Both of these herbal remedies can help you feel more rested and ready to sleep. Lavender can be drank in tea form, taken as a capsule containing the dried plant components, or used in essential oil form in an aromatherapy diffuser. Another great way to use Lavender is by rubbing the lavender oil on your feet, I have done this and it works!
&Try passion flower.
Passion Flower For Insomnia
Passion flower is a well-known herbal sleep aid that can be taken alone or used with other herbal sleep aids. It relaxes the mind and frees it from anxieties that plague your nighttime hours. Take it as a tea or use standardized capsules containing dried passionflower. My son drinks a cup of Passion Flower tea at night, he loves how much it relaxes him.
Does Yoga Help You Sleep Better?
Yes, Yoga poses do help you sleep. Yoga can be a good exercise to do right before bedtime. Yoga involves various poses while concentrating on breathing and mindfulness. A great way to relax. Check out the following YouTube video and learn which poses are best for curing your insomnia. I do yoga and it works
&PracticeTai chi. Tai chi is an ancient Chinese martial art form that has become a popular exercise for better health. It is a bit more stimulating when compared to qi gong but involves similar movements. Tai chi should probably not be done right before bedtime, instead, do tai chi about 4 hours or more before going to sleep. I’ve tried Tai Chi and it was bit difficult at first but once I got the movements down I enjoyed it.
- Purchase a yoga DVD. Establish a routine that you can implement as a nightly ritual before retiring to sleep.
Another great way to fall asleep naturally is by using essential oils
Bedtime Rituals for Adults. For me, it’s about going to bed at the same time every night and performing the same rituals. I begin my ritual at 10:00 PM by taking my dog out for a short walk and then brushing my teeth and washing my face. I’m usually in bed by 10:15. I might watch a little TV or read for awhile, then its lights out. A ritual can involve a simple task such as brushing your hair and teeth, putting on some soothing music, taking a bath with aromatherapy candles, and reading by candlelight or even fluffing your pillows before sleeping. Keep in mind that rituals are important because they train your mind and regulate your body.
